Also - SCC have been really fortunate to receive a donation from the Carnival of £1300 and more recently £500 from the Conservative Club to help us continue to develop the club. Thanks to Swanage Carnival, Swanage Conservative Club and all of you who collected and ran the bar in Carnival Week.
Awards Evening 2017
The Club recently held the annual awards evening and dinner. It was great to see so many players and supporters in attendance with the usual high standard of catering from Love Cake. President Peter Clark announced the winners and thanked all those who have helped over the season without whom its ongoing success, in all areas, would not have been possible. Chairman Ron Barker thanked long time player and ambassador of Swanage Cricket Club, Ian Booth, who announced he would be stepping down from a full time playing role, the Club wishes him every success for the future.
Adult Winter Training Times
Winter training will begin at The Swanage School on Sunday 14th January from 6:30 to 7:30.

Highest Ever Finish
Last season the 1st XI finished runners up in the Premier League - our highest ever position, whilst the 2nd XI won Division 5. The U9s won their league for the second year and the U8s are in the Plate Final now scheduled to be played next April. We started a women's section and played our first ever girl's match.
2nd XI Champions
The 2nd XI ended their season champions of Div 5, it has been an excellent spell for the team with its mix of up and coming youth and some more senior players. Congratulations to all those who have participated over the season and the club looks forward to their campaigns in 2018.

It has been another great season for the Swanage Youth cricket with our numbers passing the 100 mark for the first time. We were able to run our first ever girls team to add to the 7 sides from U8s to U15s. There was great success throughout the age groups from older juniors making the transition to adult cricket to the U8s playing in their first ever matches. Some brilliant individual performances along with with real team efforts meant everyone had a part to play. The U9s won their league for the second year running whilst the U8s have reached the Plate Final which sadly due to the weather will be played at the beginning of next season.
Thanks to everyone involved for their help and support throughout the year. It all begins again in early October with indoor training - dates and times to follow in the near future.
The 2017 Dorset Yearbook is now available to download.
After the historic, but cold, evening back in May when our first ever girl's team travelled to Winton it was the turn of Swanage to host their first home game. In a double first our Women's team also welcomed Winton so there were two games running at the same time. The Girls gave a hugely improved performance only losing by 27 runs - see the full report in the Youth Results section.

Thanks to Swanage Carnival, Swanage Conservative Club and all of you who collected and ran the bar in carnival week.
We have also been successful in our bid to be one for the nominated charities for the Co-op local community fund. As a Co-op member, every time you shop at Co-op, 1% of your spend on selected own-brand products and services goes to the Co-op Local Community Fund. This, along with the sale of carrier bags goes to support local causes. This fund runs for nearly a whole year from now through to October 2018.

With the money raised we are looking to further extend the club particularly the changing and training facilities.
